7-2-60. H. Poincaré to Felix Klein, English translation

[Between 13 January and 28 March 1882]

Monsieur,

I received the page proofs from Teubner, and will return them. I read your note and see no grounds for any changes at all.11endnote: 1 Klein appended a footnote dated 30 December 1881 (Klein, 1882) to the article he had invited Poincaré to contribute to Mathematische Annalen on 4 December 1881 (§ 4-47-10). However, do allow me to send you a few lines that seek to justify my terminology.22endnote: 2 See Poincaré to Klein, 28 March 1882 (§ 4-47-16), (§ 4-47-17), and Poincaré (1882). I await impatiently the theorem you announce, which seems to me most interesting.

Please be assured, Monsieur, of my greatest regard.

Poincaré

PTrL. Translated by S.A. Walter from the original French (§ 4-47-15). Previously translated by R. Burns in Saint-Gervais (2016).
