My dear Monsieur Poincaré,

Permit me to recall to your recollection, if you have forgotten, the paper on Fonctions à espaces lacunaires and the new revision of your paper on functions with two variables, which you have been so kind as to promise me for the Journal.11endnote: 1 Only one of the two papers mentioned appeared in the American Journal of Mathematics: that on lacunary spaces (Poincaré, 1892b). Both my students and myself are looking forward with eagerness to see those memoirs in the American Journal of Mathematics. I saw the announcement of your Mécanique Céleste and your Thermodynamics in the Comptes Rendus, and have ordered both of them for the Library of the University.22endnote: 2 Poincaré (1892a, c). It will give me pleasure to write a notice of the Mécanique Céleste to be published in this country, that is, if after seeing the work I find myself competent to do so. As ever,

Yours very sincerely,

Thomas Craig
