[15.06.1909]11endnote: 1 The Société amicale des Lorrains de Meurthe-et-Moselle convened in Paris at the Marguery restaurant on Tuesday evening, the 15th of June, 1909, in honor of the election to the Académie française of Henri and Raymond Poincaré. According to the brief account that appeared in the Est républicain of 19 June (p. 2), Henri Poincaré presided the meeting and delivered an after-dinner speech, during which he “recalled, with humor and not entirely without emotion, the strong qualities of the lorraine race”. In attendance, besides the spouses of Henri and Raymond Poincaré, were Lucien and Madame Poincaré, Émile and Madame Aline Boutroux, Albin Haller, Albert Colson and many other notables.
