Mon cher Oncle Henri,

Maman me donne ton adresse à Vienne et me dit que vous serez à Munich dans quelques jours. Je ne voudrais pas m’y trouver en même temps que vous sans le savoir. Or je dois passer à Munich Samedi; peut-être même y arriverai-je Vendredi soir, pour en partir en tout cas Dimanche matin à 7 heures. A moins que je ne sache vous remontrer ailleurs, j’irai à l’Englischer Hof près de le Presidenz. Si par hasard vous deviez arriver à Munich avant dimanche, voudrais-tu me le faire savoir ? Peut-être d’ailleurs maman me fera-t-elle connaître vos projets d’ici à Vendredi.

J’espère que vous avez beau temps comme moi ici. J’ai eu de tes nouvelles par les journaux allemands. Je vous embrasse,

• 1 Poincaré sat on the Bolyai Prize commission in Budapest on the 17th and 18th October, 1910, along with Mittag-Leffler, Gyula König and Gusztáv Rados. He had planned to stop in Dresden on his way to Budapest from Berlin, from where he began his voyage to Budapest, most likely on the 15th of October; see Poincaré to Mittag-Leffler, 27 July 1910 (§ 1-1-254).
• 2 Poincaré was asked by the Berlin daily newpaper Tägliche Rundschau for comment on the centenary commemoration of the founding of the University of Berlin; see Poincaré to Tägliche Rundshau, 30 September, 1910 (§ 6-1-1875). Poincaré’s remarks were published in German translation on 8 October (Poincaré, 1910a), and reedited in December (Poincaré, 1910b).
