4-36-47. H. Poincaré à Giovanni Battista Guccia

[Ca. 26.05.1908]11endnote: 1 The manuscript bears Guccia’s annotation: “Risp. 28/5/08 – G”.

Mon cher ami,

At the outset of the paper Walther von Dyck read at the fourth International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) (Dyck, 1909), he observed that the organisational committee, in light of Felix Klein’s inability to attend the Congress, had invited him to speak “in his place” on the topic of the Encyclopädie der mathematischen Wissenschaften. Dyck also noted that much of the ICM’s agenda in Rome was related to this editorial project. See also Poincaré to Guccia, 31 May, 1908 (§ 4-36-48).

Votre ami dévoué,

Poincaré
