4-36-48. H. Poincaré à Giovanni Battista Guccia
[31.05.1908]11endnote: 1 Dated from the Paris postmark.
Mon cher ami,
Dyck.22endnote: 2 Guccia sollicited Poincaré’s authorisaction to reedit the account he wrote of the fourth International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Rome for the Parisian journal Le Temps; see Poincaré (1908a, b), and Poincaré to Guccia, 13 May, 1908 (§ 4-36-46). In the introduction to the paper Walther von Dyck read at the ICM (Dyck, 1909), he mentioned that the organisational committee, in light of Felix Klein’s inability to attend the Congress, had invited him to speak on the topic of the Encyclopädie der mathematischen Wissenschaften. See also Poincaré to Guccia, 26 May, 1908 (§ 4-36-47).
Tout à vous et merci,
Poincaré
