Dear Monsieur Poincaré,

Thank you very much for the “tirages à part” of your memoirs in the Acta and the Journal de Mathématiques and also for the Notice sur vos travaux Scientifiques.11endnote: 1 See Poincaré 1886b, 1887a, 1886c, 1887c, 1887b, 1886a. I had already read the articles and am very glad to have the separate copies of them. I am going to introduce your paper on the residues of double integrals into my course in theory of functions. I have already given – as I do every year – your brief paper “sur les fonctions à espaces lacunaires” and also Appell’s papers on functions in regimes bounded by arcs of circles, M. Hermite merely alludes to these matters in his Cours.22endnote: 2 Poincaré (1883); Hermite (1873). The next number of the Math. Journ. will be out in a few days and will contain among other things a paper by Appell.33endnote: 3 Appell (1888).
