4-36-31. H. Poincaré à Giovanni Battista Guccia
[24.12.1905]11endnote: 1 The manuscript is annotated in an unknown hand: “Paris 24/12/05.”
Mon cher ami,
J’ai reçu les exemplaires envoyés par colis postal.22endnote: 2 Guccia had 200 offprints of the article entitled “Sur la dynamique de l’électron” (Poincaré, 1906) sent to Poincaré on 19 December, of which 190 were shipped in five boxes at the package rate, the remainder being sent by registered mail; see Guccia to Poincaré, 19 December, 1905 (§ 4-36-30). Je vous remercie beaucoup. C’est une bonne idée que vous avez pour l’Annuaire. Je vous donnerai un article soit cette année, soit l’année prochaine. J’y réfléchirai.33endnote: 3 While Poincaré responded positively to Guccia’s sollicitation of a popular article for publication in the Annuario del circolo matematico di Palermo, he did not publish any popular articles in the Annuario. A few years later, however, the Rendiconti published his semi-popular inaugural address to the fourth International Congress of Mathematicians, on the future of mathematics Poincaré (1908).
Votre ami bien dévoué,
Poincaré
